Solar scam: Saritha S Nair granted bail in two cases

Kochi: The high court on Friday granted conditional bail to solar scam accused Saritha S Nair in two cheating cases registered against her.

She was granted bail on a personal bond of Rs 5 lakh.

The court has also asked Saritha to surrender her passport.

In the bail petitions, Saritha had contended that Biju Radhakrishnan, the first accused, was the managing director of the company while she was only a silent partner and a sales representative.

The cases were registered by Ernakulam North police on complaints of cheating by promising installation of solar power plants, filed by P K Subramanian and G Harikrishnan. Subramanian's complaint said he was cheated of Rs 17.5 lakh while that of Harikrishnan said he was duped of Rs 23.5 lakh.

Saritha can’t leave the jail as she is an accused in 33 more cases in connection with the solar scandal.
