Thiruvananthapuram: Leader of the Opposition V.S Achuthanandan on Tuesday hailed the CBI court verdict excluding Pinarayi Vijayan from the accused list in the SNC Lavlin case.
While welcoming the development, Mr. Achuthanandan said since the verdict had come, other views about the case had ceased to have relevance, apparently alluding to the divergent stand taken by him earlier.
However, the CPI-M veteran parried a question on whether he thought the court order would impact politics in Kerala.
The CPI-M also hailed the court’s decision.
“This verdict exonerating Vijayan from the charges is welcome. It is a vindication of (our) stand that these charges are baseless, and it was a political motivated case,” the CPI-M said in a statement.
