Thiruvananthapuram: KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala on Tuesday refuted reports that the UDF government in the state was likely to last only till the parliament election.
“No one can bring down the UDF government. Oommen Chandy's government will complete the five-year term,” Chennithala told reporters here adding “it is just a dream of some people to topple the government."
After a CBI Court decided to drop CPI-M state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan's name from the list of accused in the SNC Lavalin case, CPI-M polit bureau member Kodiyeri Balakrishnan had indicated that Chandy's government in the state was likely to last only till the parliament election.
Balakrishnan had said that the ruling coalition was likely to see a change after the Lok Sabha elections.
“Some of the allies of Congress in the United Democratic Front (UDF) are unhappy with the way things are going. However, the Left Front will not do anything to topple the Oommen Chandy government,” he added.
