Thiruvananthapuram: The 29th Sub Junior and 39th Junior Kerala State Aquatic Championship will be held at the newly commissioned International Aquatic Complex at Pirappancode here from May 25 to 27.

This is the first approved Competition being held in this Aquatic Complex since its commissioning, General Secretary K Babu said in a press release here today.

Competitions will be held in Swimming and Waterpolo events both for Boys and girls, he said.

Participants from all the Districts will be attending this State Championship. The Kerala State team to participate in the 29th Sub Junior and 39th Junior National Aquatic Championship scheduled at Rajkot and Chennai respectively during July 2012 will be selected from this championship.

For Sub Junior competitions will be held in three groups, Viz Group 111 ( 11 to 12 years), Group 1V (9- 10 years) Group V ( below 9 years), Juniors Group 1 ( 15 to 17 years) and group 11 ( 13 to 14 years).

The State Championship will be inaugurated by Ms Padmini Thomas, President, KSSC at 0900 hrs on May 25 May. The prize distribution and closing ceremony will be held on May 27 at 1600 hrs.
