Kozhikode: The police have arrested the prime accused in the case related to the attack on the Chief Minister Oommen Chandy in Kannur on October 27.
V V Rajesh, a Peringom resident in Kannur, was arrested on Saturday from Payyoli here while he was attending a PSC examination. Rajesh is Kannur district committee office secretary of DYFI.
The police allege that Rajesh had thrown the stone which hit Chandy.
The police had earlier arrested four persons including two SFI Kannur District leaders in connection with the case.
Kannur District SFI President Prashob and its secretary Sarin Sasi and two other activists were arrested while they were participating in a dharna before Kannur district collectorate.
Chandy was injured in the stone pelting incident when he went to inaugurate the valedictory function of the Kerala Police athletic meet on October 27.
