New Delhi: The Goa police Sunday started recording statements of three witnesses with whom the Tehelka woman journalist had reportedly spoken to after the alleged sexual assault on her by the magazine editor Tarun Tejpal

These are three colleagues of the victim with whom she had interacted soon after the alleged assault happened at a Goa hotel around a fortnight ago. She had also reportedly sent them e-mailed copies of her complaint to Tehelka Managing Editor Shoma Chaudhary.

The statements were being recorded at Goa Sadan here, sources said.

The woman journalist had also reportedly mentioned the name of her three colleagues in the complaint and said Chaudhary could corroborate facts about the incident from them.

Meanwhile, Tehelka managing editor Shoma Chaudhury was quizzed by Goa Police here Sunday in the case. Chaudhury was quizzed Saturday as well.

According to sources, police have collected some CDs and a few hard discs from Tehelka office in south Delhi.

On Tejpal's arrest in the case, sources said it was not yet clear if he would be arrested.

A three-member Goa Police team reached Tehelka office Saturday and scrutinised documents, including Shoma Chaudhury's laptop and i-pad.

The young Tehelka journalist, in her complaint to Chaudhury, had said that Tejpal sexually assaulted her twice in the elevator in the Club House section of the Grand Hyatt five-star resort during the news magazine's high-profile ThinkFest conference earlier this month.

Tejpal in a statement released Friday requested the investigators to "examine and release the CCTV footage so that the accurate version of events stands clearly revealed".
