Kochi: Palakkad Monday continued to lead with 136 points in the overall standings in the 57th State school athletics meet at the Maharaja’s Stadium here.

P.U Chitra of Mundoor HS School, Palakkad bagged her third gold today. Chitra, who had earlier bagged gold in the 3000m and the senior girls 5000m respectively, took first place in the 1500m with a new meet record.

K.R Athira of Nellipoyil H.S, Kozhikode, who had won gold in the 400m, set her second record in the junior girls 1500m. Bipin George of Mar Basil School won gold in the junior boys 1500m. Twinkle Tomy of Thiruvananthapuram emerged first in the senior boys 1500m.

Among schools, Mar Basil HSS Kothamangalam (51) in the lead and Parali HS, Palakkad second (49 points).
