Thiruvananthapuram: KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala has sought a probe against Elamaram Kareem in the wake of recent controversy over the clearance given for iron ore mining at Chakkittappara in Kozhikode.

“A credible probe should be conducted to bring out the truth in the issue,” Chennithala told reporters here on Saturday.

Meanwhile, KPCC vice-president M.M Hassan has said the government shows reluctance to order probe in the issue.

“People do not want to hear CPI-M’s version that as a minister Kareem had performed well. That doesn’t mean an inquiry is not necessary against him,” said Hassan.
