Thiruvananthapuram: Deputy leader of Opposition in Kerala assembly Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Thursday demanded resignation of Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan as Home Minister of the State.

“The Home Minister is victimizing the jail officials to conceal his own blunders. He is now planning to transform the Jail DGP over the issue of Facebook usage by prisoners in Kozhikode jail,” said Kodiyeri at a press conference here.

The timing of the controversy over the TP murder case accused in the jail is suspicious as the final hearing in the murder case is underway, the Marxist leader said. He also sought a scientific assessment of the images and voices aired on media as of the murder case accused persons.

“What we see in the governing field is complete anarchism. Nobody trusts anyone. The Home Minister does not trust the officials while the officials have no faith in the government.”

There was serious lapse from the Home Department’s part in the incident where the Chief Minister was attacked. But Thiruvanchoor could cover up his failure putting all the blame on the Left workers. He is using the same tactic now by blaming the jail officials, said Kodiyeri.
