Thiruvananthapuram: The state Cabinet that met here has decided to take over Kochi Sahakarana Medical College, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy told reporters here.
The Chief Minister was briefing the media after a Cabinet meeting here on Wednesday.
A committee has been set up to look into the further procedures with district collector P I Shaik Pareeth IAS being its chairman.
The Chief Minster further said that the cabinet was yet to take a final call on Pariyaram Medical College. “A final decision on taking over Pariyaram Medical College will be taken after studying the report.”
The cabinet has also given its final approval to the planned bottled drinking water plant near Malankara dam in Idukki.
The move by the Kerala Irrigation Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (KIIDC), which is under the Water Resources Department, had not only drawn flak from the Opposition but also environmentalists, water experts and a section within the Congress.
