Thiruvananthapuram: Deputy leader of Opposition in the assembly Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Wednesday said that the Chief Minister would have to step down if he expelled Kerala Congress (M) leader and government Chief Whip P C George.
“It is because of this fear Oommen Chandy has given full freedom to George,” Kodiyeri told reporters here.
“Gorge is an urn of secrets. He has knowledge of serious misconducts of several Congress leaders. He is not going to be expelled from the post of Chief Whip no matter he attends BJP function or RSS programme,” said the CPI-M Politburo member.
He further said that the A-faction of the Congress was mooting an alliance with the BJP in the State.
Meanwhile, CPI leader Benoy Viswam said that the office of the Chief Minister was not only a centre of fraudsters but also a place bridging Congress-BJP alliance. He made the remarks while inaugurating Wednesday’s Cliff House siege of the LDF.
