Kochi: Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) A.V. George has moved the High Court against a show-cause notice issued by Governor Nikhil Kumar in a case accusing him of misrepresenting his qualification in the curriculum vitae.
In a plea filed at the High Court, the VC seeks a stay on the notice.
The Governor, who is also the Chancellor of the University, had directed him reply within seven days.
It was the third time George was being asked to explain his position by the Chancellor. The first show-cause notice was regarding creation of 56 new posts and the second, on the controversy over the establishment of new off campuses.
The complaint made by the Higher Education Department accused the Vice-Chancellor of misrepresenting his qualification in the curriculum vitae he had submitted before the search committee appointed by the State government for finding an eligible candidate for the post of Vice-Chancellor at the university.
