Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader VS Achuthanandan on Wednesday sought to rein in petroleum companies and gas agencies for hiking the price of cooking gas.
The companies should not be allowed to function. The people should also protest against the state-centre governments for facilitating the price-hike, Achuthanandan told reporters.
“The people should lay siege to the petroleum companies and offices of the gas agencies until the price-hike is withdrawn. The government should also revoke the decision making Aadhaar card mandatory for getting subsidy.”
The decision to make Aadhaar card mandatory to avail gas-subsidy is against the direction of the Supreme Court, added the CPI-M leader.
