Thiruvananthapuram: CPI-M state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan said on Monday that his party would launch an indefinite hunger-strike at 1400 centers in the State from January 15 to protest the price rise in cooking gas.
Talking to reporters here, Vijayan said one person would go on hunger-strike at each centre from January 15. He added that the party was yet to take a call on till when the strike would go on.
“We hope the people will support the strike,” he said.
“The Centre had already said that the subsidy distribution would be linked to Aadhaar. It is known that the Centre’s approach is of aiding the corporates.”
“But what Oommen Chandy government is doing is fooling the people,” Vijayan said.
