Teenager Arrested for Uploading “Drishyam” to Internettext_fields
Thiruvananthapuram: A high school student has been arrested on the charge of uploading on the internet the latest Mohanlal-starrer Malayalam film, “Drishyam,” which is currently running to packed houses.
The anti-piracy cell of the state police, which is closely monitoring the online uploading and downloading of movies in the wake of increasing complaints from the film industry, nabbed the teenager Jan. 10 for posting the film “Drishyam” on a social networking site, police sources said.
The student, hailing from Kottarakkara, was arrested on the basis of the complaint from the producer of the film, they said.
The hard disk of the computer and pen drives used for the crime were seized from his home, they said.
An investigation was also on to nab the operators of another website which uploaded the movie first on the internet, police added.
