New Delhi: Reacting to a court verdict which exonerated 24 accused including prominent CPI-M leaders P Mohanan Master and Paradayankandi Raveendran in the TP Chandrasekharan murder case, CPI-M state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday said that the party had been vindicated.
“With the court verdict, the party has become free of all the charges. We don’t reject the pronouncement as it has brought relief to the party,” Vijayan said while talking to reporters here.
“There were deliberate attempts from certain quarters to malign the image of the party over TP murder case. The conspiracy has been revealed with the court verdict. It was plotted projecting Mohanan Master and Raveendran. But both of them have been acquitted by the court,” he said.
Vijayan said according to the party, P Kunjananthan, who has been found guilty by the court, had no role in the murder. “The Chandrasekharan murder was an unfortunate incident. The party will examine how Kunjananthan was named in the list of the guilty.”
He further said the party would discuss the matter and decide on appealing against the pronouncement later.
