Kozhikode: The Special Additional Sessions Court (Marad cases) at Eranhipalam will Tuesday pronounce the quantum of sentence to 12 men convicted in the T P Chandrasekharan murder case.
Arguments on the quantum of punishment were heard on Thursday from the prosecution and defence.
The court had also read out the offences punishable under the IPC to the convicts and recorded their statements.
Twelve accused in the politically significant T P Chandrasekharan murder were found guilty by the court here January 22, but some of the party's key local functionaries charged with conspiracy were acquitted.
Those let off by Special Court Judge R Narayana Pisharadi included CPI-M district secretariat member P Mohanan, who allegedly conspired to murder RMP leader Chandrasekharan.
A total of 36 persons faced the trial. Twelve were convicted and 24 acquitted.
Chandrasekharan, who quit the CPI-M a few years ago, had floated the RMP. He was murdered by a seven-member gang at Vallikkad near Onchiyam in Kozhikode district on May 4 last year.
