Haripad: A bullet tanker carrying liquid petroleum gas (LPG) from Thuthukudi in Tamil Nadu overturned on the National Highway at R K Junction here in the early hours of Wednesday.

The incident occurred at around 3.15 a.m. when the tanker on its way to Kottayam lost control while negotiating a curve.

The driver and the cleaner of the tanker were injured in the accident.

The tanker, carrying 18 tonnes of LPG, belongs to the Indian Oil Corporation.

A major mishap was avoided as the gas did not leak from the tanker.
