Thiruvananthapuram: Finance Minister K.M Mani has said in the Assembly that the lump-sum tax imposed on autos has been withdrawn.

While replying to the debate on the budget, the State Finance Minister has also said the special schools with about 100 students will be upgraded as aided schools.

"An extra amount of Rs. 100 will be given for all welfare pensions," Mani informed the Assembly.

"The amount for the debt relief of fishermen has been raised to 10 crores from one crore. The honorarium for Anganwadi and Asha workers has been raised to Rs. 2000 and Rs. 1000 respectively," the Minister said.

"The government will strongly intervene to prevent the fall in the price of rubber," he said.
