Six more districts to get women-only police stations

Alappuzha: Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala on Monday said that the government would setup women-only police stations in six more districts in the state.

The independent stations will be setup in Kollam, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Thrissur, Malappuram, and Kannur districts, raising the number of such police stations in the state to nine.

The Home Minster added that the whole district would come under the particular station.

“The government will take necessary steps to increase representation of women in the police force,” Chennithala said while inaugurating a new building of the Alappuzha North police station here.
