SNDP allows functionaries to form political party

Kollam: The meeting of the office bearers of SNDP Yogam has passed a resolution allowing its functionaries to form the political party.

The resolution has also passed the decision that there is no need for the SNDP to form a political party on its own.

Though the SNDP and NSS had come together on a broad Hindu unity plank, the experiment to unify the two major Hindu outfits yet again failed over the issue of the constitution of the special recruitment board for devaswoms.

Mr. Nateshan had alleged that NSS general secretary G. Sukumaran Nair was singularly responsible for letting down the unity bid.

Delivering the inaugural address at a massive public gathering as part of the Travancore Ezhava Mahasangamam, Vellapally Natesan had February 1 said the SNDP was prepared to join hands with neglected sections of society to gain political power and ensure social justice.

Asserting that the SNDP Yogam was capable of making a political party stronger than any of the existing ones in Kerala, Yogam vice president Thushar Vellappally had said such an organisation had become necessary to demonstrate the might of the Ezhava community.
