Thiruvananthapuram: Leader of the Opposition V.S Achuthanandan on Saturday said Transport Minister Aryadan Muhammed should resign and face probe into the murder of the sweeper at the Congress office at Nilambur.

“If Aryadan is not ready to resign, the Chief Minister and the KPCC president should be ready to expel him from the Ministry,” Mr. Achuthanandan told reporters here.

“The probe should also cover whether the murder had any nexus with the solar case,” the CPI-M veteran said.

“The revelations made by the victim’s brother should also be probed,” he said.

The body of Radha, a sweeper at the Congress Blaock office here, was found in a pond at Chulliyode near Nilambur last Sunday, tied up in a gunny bag. She had been missing since February 5, and family members had reported the matter to the police.

The police arrested 38-year-old Biju Nair, the personal assistant of Aryadan Muhammed, and K. Shamsudeen in connection with the case. The duo had confessed to the crime.
