Thiruvananthapuram: The Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP) has decided to file a defamation case against CPI-M district secretariat member C. Bhaskaran for making derogatory remarks against T.P Chandrasekharan.
Sources said K.K Rema, widow of T.P Chandhrasekharan, will file the defamation case against the CPI-M leader as per the decision taken at a meeting of the RMP here on Sunday.
The Vadakara police on Friday had registered a case against C. Bhaskaran in connection with the controversial speech, reportedly defaming slain Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP) leader T.P. Chandrasekharan, at a public meeting at Kottaparamba, Vadakara. The first information report (FIR) was registered against Bhaskaran under Section 118 (d) of the Kerala Police Act.
Mr. Bhaskaran had delivered the speech during a reception accorded to P. Mohanan, 14th accused in the Chandrasekharan murder case, who was acquitted by the Special Additional Sessions Court (Marad Cases) on January 22.
Responding to the case filed against C. Bhaskaran, CPI-M State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan had said the move was 'utter nonsense'.
