Thiruvananthapuram: Amid reports that the draft notification on the Kasturirangan report may be delayed further, Chief Minister Ommen Chandy Thursday said the draft notification would be issued today.

“The draft notification will be issued today and there is need for doubts on it,” the Chief Minister told reporters here.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala has held talks with Union Environment Minister Veerappa Moily in Delhi on the matter.

“There is no ground for speculations on the issue. The draft notification will be issued today,” Mr. Chennithala said.

The delay in issuance of the draft notification on the Kasturirangan report has put the UDF government under big pressure, with the KC-M and KC-J upped the ante against the Office memorandum issued by the Centre on Kasturirangan report.

The KC-M has convened a party leadership meeting on Friday to decide the next course of action after an Office memorandum was Tuesday issued by the Centre on Kasturirangan report.

In another development on Wednesday, Water Resources Minister KC-J leader P J Joseph had stayed away from the Cabinet meeting apparently as a mark of protest against Centre's stance on the issue.
