Kollam: Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) in the state has expressed displeasure over the way the CPI-M announced its Lok Sabha candidates without holding discussions with its allies.
The leadership of the party is firm on its demand that it needs the Kollam constituency, the party’s stronghold.
RSP’s former state secretary V P Ramakrishna Pillai on Friday said that the party would think of contesting the election on its own if its demand is not met.
“The party’s state committee, scheduled to meet on Saturday, will take a final call on the matter. We will officially convey the decision to the CPI-M after that,” he said.
Pillai furthers said that the party would not hesitate to leave the LDF if the CPI-M did not consider its demand.
The CPI-M had announced that its senior leader M A Baby would contest the Lok Sabha polls in the Kollam constituency.
