Thiruvananthapuram: CPI-M veteran VS Achuthanandan on Friday welcome his party’s decision to expel Kunnammakara local committee member K C Ramachandran, one of the three accused sentenced to life imprisonment in the politically sensational T P Chandrasekharan murder case.
In a press release on Friday, Achuthanandan said that CPI-M had done something no other party could do.
The central committee of the party took a decision and the state committee executed it, he said in the release.
Taking a dig at the Congress party, the Opposition leader asked what they had done in the Nilambur murder case in which its functionaries were accused. Is the Congress ready to conduct an investigation into the murder of the woman at their party office?, he asked.
The decision to expel K C Ramachandran was taken by the CPI-M state committee which met here on Thursday in the presence of the party general secretary Prakash Karat.
According to a statement, Ramachandran had personal animosity with Chandrasekharan, a CPI-M rebel who floated a parallel left outfit called Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP) at Onchiyam in Kozhikode district.
