Kottayam: Finance Minister and Kerala Congress-M chief K.M Mani on Monday said the party's decision to leave the Idukki seat was a sacrifice for the UDF.
“The party had even come on the brink of snapping ties with the Front because of the denial of the Idukki seat. But, we changed the decision for the sake of UDF,” Mani told reporters here.
“The Kerala Congress didn't attempt to bargain another seat instead of Idukki. There is a limit to pressurise for the seat. The party didn’t cross that limit. But, it should not be seen as the weakness of the Kerala Congress,” Mr. Mani said.
“The party had gone to central leaders too and expressed our unhappiness in leaving the Idukki seat,” he added.
