New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a plea filed by T.K Soman, seeking to quash the FIR against Opposition leader V.S Achuthanandhan in the land allotment case.
The apex court, while hearing the case, has observed it is the trial court to decide on whether to reject the case. The court has also directed to complete the trial in the case within six months.
The case pertains to the allotment of 2.33 acres of land in Kasaragod district to Achuthanandan’s close relative Soman, an ex-serviceman, as per provisions of a scheme for land allotment to ex-servicemen.
The alleged land transfer took place at the fag-end of Achuthanandan's tenure as chief minister in early 2011.
