Kozhikode: Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) alone has the capacity to effectivley counter the challenge posed by communal fascism, Kerala Home Minister, Ramesh Chennithala said Tuesday.
Speaking at a meet-the-press programme of Calicut Press Club here, Chennithala said the CPI-M and the Third Front will not be able to counter such a threat.
Criticising the RSS, Chennithala alleged, "Earlier the RSS resorted to back seat driving, but now it was driving from the front seat."
He said Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) has a favourable climate in the state and it was going to win more seats than in the last election.
An anti-CPI-M mood is prevailing in the state, he said.
To a query on cabinet reshuffle in the state after the election, he said such a discussion was not held in the party or in the front. "It is the prerogative of the Chief Minister."
Chennithala refuted CPI-M State Secretary, Pinarayi Vijayan's statement that there was financial crisis in the state.
