Kozhikode: Defence Minister A.K Antony on Tuesday has said the CPI-M is scared of the CBI probe into the T.P Chandrasekharan murder case.
“The CPI-M is now excessively rejoicing as the CBI has shown its reluctance to take up the T.P case. It proves the party’s involvement in the case,” the Defence Minister told reporters here.
“The CPI-M is opposing the CBI probe into the murder case as it is scared of the investigation may turn against them,” Mr. Antony said.
Mr. Antony also asked Opposition leader V.S Achuthanandan to clarify his stand in the murder case.
“The truth will come out in the case,” he added.
According to official sources, the CBI has rejected State government's plea to probe "conspiracy" angle behind a politically sensitive murder case in which a special court had convicted 11 accused, including three CPI-M functionaries
Responding to media reporters on the matter, State Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala Monday had said the government had urged the CBI to reconsider its decision.
