Thiruvananthapuram: Congress leader T.N Prathapan, MLA, has written to Chief Justice of India, accusing High Court Justice Haroon Ul-Rasheed of showing partiality in making remarks in and outside of the court.

The Congress leader, in the letter, has said the recent observations made by Justice Haroon Ul-Rasheed has put the entire judiciary into bad light and has created suspicion about the integrity of Judges among the public.

Mr. Prathapan also said all the observations made against Chief Minister Ommen Chandy and his office were biased and have become weapons in the hands of the Opposition to attack the ruling front in the State and the Chief Minister politically.

“The latest developments of severe biased and misleading criticism against the Chief Minister was followed by the revelations by media, that Justice Harun Ul-Rasheed personally met Mr. Kodiyeri Balakrishnan and had a closed door discussion prior to the announcement of the judgement,” he added.

The Kerala High Court division bench Tuesday had stayed two controversial references by a single division bench against Chief Minister Ommen Chandy and his office last week.

In strong remarks against the office of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, the High Court on Friday had held that authorities at the helm of affairs in the state have not been "prudent and responsible" in appointing personal staff with integrity and character.

"The Chief Minister's office should be a model institution serving the people of the State", Justice Harun-Ul-Rashid had said, ordering a fresh CBI probe in two land grabbing cases against Salim Raj, former gunman of the CM.
