Thiruvananthapuram: Sticking to his stand alleging massive corruption in the government decision on the issuance of licence to 335 bars, Deputy Leader of the Opposition Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Saturday said a judicial inquiry should be conducted into the issue.
Coming out heavily on the government decision issuing licences to bars, Mr. Kodiyeri has alleged the licences of non-standard bars have been renewed.
“Bar licences of a businessman close to Excise Minister and son-in-law of Finance Minister K.M Mani were renewed,” he alleged.
Mr. Kodiyeri has also said he is ready to furnish evidences to substantiate the allegations if a judicial probe is announced into the matter.
“KPCC president V.M Sudheeran, who has been claiming everything is transparent, should respond to the issue,” he said.
When asked about the RMP’s allegation that CPI-M candidate from Vadakara had connection with T.P murder accused Kirmani Manoj, the CPI-M leader has termed it is just ‘an election stunt’ as the Lok Sabha polls is round the corner.
“It was after the party’s approval Opposition leader V.S Achuthanandan filed a petition in the Kerala Court against Chief Minister Ommen Chandy in the solar case,” he added.
