CPI-M losing its base, says A K Antony

Thiruvananthapuram: Defence minister A K Antony on Tuesday said that CPI-M had lost its base among the people in the state as it failed to understand the ‘pulse’ of the mass.

“They are losing their base. The people are not yet recovered from the shudder created by the brutal murder of T P Chandrasekharan. The people would have accepted their faults if the party had confessed it. But what do they do is to defend the crime,” Antony told reporters here before setting out for campaign.

The Congress leader also said that the Marxist party had been isolated in the political circle.

The current political scenario in the state is similar to that of 1977. The Marxist party is going to face the biggest defeat in the history, Antony aid.

He also said that he had not seen the so-called ‘Modi wave' in any part of Kerala.
