61st National Film Awards: Jolly LLB wins best Hindi film

New Delhi: Arshad Warsi’s Jolly LLB won the Best Hindi film award at the 61st National Film Awards announced on Wednesday, while Saurabh Shukla, who played a no-nonsense judge in the movie, bagged the Best Supporting Actor (Male).

Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao, who impressed all with his performance of a Kashmiri lawyer in ‘Shahid’ won the Best Actor award.

If this was not all, Shahid’s director Hansal Mehta also bagged the Best Director award.

Best Actor award was shared between Rajkummar and Suraj Venjaramoodu for Perariyathavar.

Anand Gandhi directed ‘Ship of Theseus’ was named best feature film at the 61st National Film Award. ‘Gulaabi Gang’ won the award for Best Movie on Social Issues.

Best Actor (Female) went to Geetanjali Thapa, Liar’s Dice.

Best Supporting Actor (Female) was shared between two actresses Aida Elkashef, Ship of Theseus and Marathi actress Amruta Subhash for Astu.
