Kozhikode: IUML State general secretary K.P.A Majeed on Monday said the party did not have any complaints against the Congress regarding the campaigning for its candidates for the Lok Sabha polls.
“We don’t have the complaint that the Congress didn’t cooperate with us during the campaigning for the Lok Sabha polls in Ponnani and Malappuram,” Mr. Majeed told reporters after a leadership meeting of the Muslim League, which was convened here to review the Lok Sabha election.
“The League candidates in the two constituencies will get a majority votes in the election,” the IUML leader said.
“The UDF candidate will win in the Vadakara seat. The CPI-M raises allegations against the UDF foreseeing a defeat in the election. The League workers were active in the campaigning for UDF candidate in Vadakara,” he said.
“We held a primary discussion on the Lok Sabha polls at today’s meeting. New action plans will be formed after holding further reviews on the matter,” he added.
Stating that the low-standard bar hotels in the State should be stopped, Mr. Majeed said that the Muslim League’s policy was to bring the liquor-sale down gradually.
He also said that he would demand the matter in the next UDF meeting.
