Thiruvananthapuram: Congress leader K. Muraleedharan on Friday said his father K. Karunakaran, the then Chief Minister of Kerala, was pained over the missing of the sacred jewellery from the Guruvayoor temple.
“The Opposition parties had used the incident for their political benefits. I’m pleased that the truth has finally come out though it is belated,” Mr. Muraleedharan told reporters here.
“Those who insulted K. Karunakaran at that time should apologise now,” he added.
A part of the sacred ornament (Thiruvabharanam), which was missing from the Guruvayur Temple 29-years back, was Friday recovered from a well of the temple.
The ornament weighing 60 grams with 29 blue stones was one of the three jewellery which went missing way back in 1985 from Guruvayur.
