Mumbai: Captain Krishnan Nair, 93, founder of the Leela Group, passed away at 3.30 a.m on Saturday. He was suffering from age-related health issues.
Last rites will be held at Juhu in Mumbai on Sunday evening.
Krishnan Nair founded Leela Lace Ltd., a textile company in 1957 and later became the Founder-Chairman of the Leela Group of Hotels, established in 1986.
Nair was born and brought up in Kannur, one of the eight children of a government bill collector.
He had served in the Indian National Army under Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.
