Finally, Dileep files for divorce

Kozhikode: Putting an end to the rumours and all the noisy speculations, Dileep and Manju Warrier are finally heading for a divorce!

Actor Dileep has filed for a divorce Thursday at a family court in Ernakulam.

Dileep, in the petition, has also requested the court to see that the details of the petition and the case should not be published by the media citing a Supreme Court directive. The court agreed to his plea.

The court will consider the case on July 23.

Dileep married actress Manju Warrier on 20 October 1998, while she was at the peak of her career. After the marriage, the actress had left filmdom. The couple have a daughter, Meenakshi.

Ever since Manju Warrier made a comeback to tinseltown after more than a decade, rumour mills have been buzzing that all is not well between her and Dileep. However, the couple have always maintained a stoic silence when quizzed about whether there is any truth in it.

Actress Manju Warrier recently made a comeback after a decade to Malayalam filmdom with How Old Are You. Some of her best films include Kannezhuthi Pottum Thottu, Ee Puzhayum Kadannu, Pathram, Kanmadam, Aaraam Thampuran and Sallapam among others.

In her career, she won four Filmfare Awards South for Malayalam best actress and won the National Film Award - Special Jury Award for her performance in "Kannezhuthi Pottum Thottu" in 1999.
