Ranchi: Senior BJP leader L.K. Advani Tuesday met former union minister and party leader Yashwant Sinha in Jharkhand's Hazaribagh jail.
State BJP president Rabindra Rai, former chief minister Arjun Munda and others accompanied Advani who arrived in Ranchi by a special plane and took a chopper to meet Sinha in jail.
After meeting Sinha, Advani felt the latter should play a bigger role in the state.
Sinha was arrested June 2 for leading a demonstration against the poor power scenario in the state. He was produced in court June 3 and sent to judicial custody after he refused to furnish a bail bond.
His judicial custody was Monday extended till June 28.
Central BJP leaders like Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Shahnawaz Hussain met Sinha in jail last Thursday.
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has said the BJP was politicising the power problems in the state.
