New Delhi: The government is in the process of deciding names to fill vacancies of governors and the appointments will be made "very soon", Home Minister Rajnath Singh said Thursday.
"The appointments will be made very soon," he told reporters here in response to queries about the vacancies in various Raj Bhavans across India.
Governors of some states, who had been appointed during the United Progressive Alliance government, have resigned after a nudge from the National Democratic Alliance government. Among those who have resigned were governors of Chhattisgarh, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh.
The minister, however, did not say if the new appointments will come through before or after the budget session.
