New Delhi: India today named a 12-member women's team for the 34th Williams Jones Cup basketball tournament to be held at the Miaoli Dome Gymnasium in Miaoli County, Taiwan from July 7 to 11.
The team was announced after a month-long national camp at SAI centre in Bangalore from June 4 to July 4, a Basketball Federation of India release said.
C Thinakaran (Kerala) will be the head coach of the team, while Prem Kumar (Tamil Nadu) has been named his deputy.
India finished in the fourth place, beating Korea 63-59 in the last edition of the tournament.
The William Jones Cup is an annual basketball tournament held in Taipei, Taiwan since 1977, and has participation from various international teams.
There are two version of the William Jones Cup — the tournament for men's basketball and for women's basketball.
Chapman University women's basketball team (Panthers) will be the lone representative from US in the six-team exhibition which will also feature India, Japan, Korea and Taiwan.
