6 states for softball championship

Puducherry: Teams from Six states including defending champions Kerala in both men and women sections will vie for honours in the 9th Senior South Zone National Softball championships beggining here tomorrow.

Organising Secretary K Razhendhirane and President of the Pondicherry Amateur Softball Association T Thyagarajan told newsmen that the matches would take place at the Indira Gandhi stadium.

Organising committee President and former legislator R Siva will inagurate the championships while speaker V Sabapathy will flag off a road -march tomorrow which will pass through the main thoroughfares of the town. As many as 350 persons including players,team officals and technical officials are expected to participate in the three day event.
