Thilakans condition remains serious

Thiruvananthapuram:The condition of renowned Malayalam film actor Thilakan, hospitalised here following heart attack, continued to be serious.

Hospital sources said the 76 year-old actor, admitted to a private hospital on August 23, continued to be on ventilator support and his condition was still serious.

Earlier State Health Minister V S Sivakumar, who visited the actor, had said that the government would bear the expenses for the actor's treatment. Thilakan would be provided the best treatment available, he added.

Actor Mammootty who visited the thespian along with his actor son Dulquar Salman had said that Amma, actor’s organisation, would lend financial help to Thilakan.

Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan, directors Sibi Malayil and Kamal, actors Suresh Gopi, Maniyanpilla Raju and other film personalities visited the actor at the hospital.
