Kannur: Elaborate arrangements have been put in place for the conduct of the week-long National Theatre Festival of Kerala, conducted by the Department of Information and Public Relations, from November 25.
A total of 20 plays, including six from other states, would be staged, during the festival, according to the organisers.
Two plays would be staged on the inaugural day, and three every day during the remaining days of the festival, which concludes on December 1.
Cultural Affairs minister, K C Joseph would inaugurate the event, which has been arranged in such a way that theatre lovers would not miss any of the plays.
The objective of the festival was to revive theatre movement in the state, organisers said.
The plays would be staged at three venues every day and the entry would be free, they said.
Among the plays to be staged includes 'Draupathy' Nangyarkoothu of Koodiyattom performer Usha Nangiar, 'Parinayam' based on film scripted by M T Vasudevan Nair and directed by Surya Krishnamoorthy and 'Andubali' by Vayala Vasudevan Pillai.
