Dubai: The much-delayed Smart City Kochi project, being promoted by the Dubai-based Tecom, moved one step closer to realisation with a high-level meeting in Dubai on Tuesday deciding to start work within six months.
According to reports, the meeting has also decided to open its special office in Kochi within two months.
The meeting is reported to have decided to appoint a Chief Executive Officer for the project in Kochi. The project is aimed to be completed within five years.
Industries Minister P.K Kunhalikutty, Abdul Latheef Al-Mullah, Chief Development Officer of Dubai Holding and Gulf-based Kerala businessman M.A. Yusufali attended the meeting.
“All the hurdles are cleared and the aim is to complete the project as soon as possible,” Industries Minister P.K Kunhalikutty told reporters.
