In the men's singles, Kashyap beat Japan's Takuma Ueda 21-14, 16-21, 21-5 in a match lasting almost an hour. The World No. 11 next faces sixth seed Jan O Jorgensen.
R.M.V. Gurusaidut trounced compatriot Sourabh Varma 21-11, 21-14 to advance while Ajay Jayaram lost to Malaysian Daren Liew 15-21, 11-21.
