Kolkata: Veteran CPI-M leader V S Achuthanandan has said that the decision of the party state committee to expel three of his personal aides is unacceptable.
As per reports, Achuthanandan, who is here for the three-day long central committee meet, have conveyed his stand on the issue to party general secretary Prakash Karat. He has reportedly clarified that he would not change his staff despite the party decision.
Achuthanandan met Prakash Karata at Musaffer Ahmad Bhavan, the party’s headquarters here, ahead of the central committee meet, which is likely to discuss the issue.
The state panel of the CPI-M, headed by Pinarayi Vijayan had decided to expel former press secretary K Balakrishnan, Achuthanandan’s personal assistant A Suresh and additional private secretary V K Sasidharan from the party.
They are charged with leaking to the media contents of a review prepared by the party’s state committee for internal circulation at its congress in Coimbatore in 2008.
