Kochi: A unique three-day aviation exhibition featuring various segments of civil aviation is being held by Southern College of Engineering and Technology at its campus at Chalakudy, 55 km from here, from January 31.
The exhibition is said to be the first of its kind to be held in the State.
The college, one of the pioneers in aviation training in India, had recently upgraded its fleet of aircraft by importing a Learjet 24-DXR Heavy, Pressurised Aircraft and a Cessna-152 from US to train students. The institution has two HT-2, a Lark and two Pushpak aircraft, its Principal Gilroy John Luiz, said in a press release.
The college also has 20 different types of piston engines and five different types of turbine engines, different kinds of aircraft components, structures, aircraft systems, propellers, sophisticated aircraft tools which would be displayed at the exhibition.
The institution in association with Chipsan Aviation Private Ltd will also have a Air Travel, Landing and static display of Eurocopter AS-350 B3 on February 1.
