INS Dronacharya to make data base of deceased sailors' kin

Kochi: INS Dronacharya, the guardian unit of Naval Regimental System (NRS), will be reaching out to the families of deceased sailors in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Idukki Kottayam and Alappuzha districts of Kerala to prepare a database of their contact details.

Indian Navy had established the NRS for the care and assistance of its widows and next of kin of deceased Naval personnel.

The initiative envisages formalising the hitherto informal support rendered to families of departed shipmates, with the might of Naval administrative machinery.

This would include among other things, assisting them in speeding up the process of disbursal of entitlements due to the family after the passing away of Naval personnel.

Families of retired deceased Indian Naval sailors in these districts can write to Commanding Officer, INS Dronacharya, Fort Kochi as well as contact their respective District Sainik Welfare Offices, a Defence press release said.
