TP murder: P Mohanan’s bail plea rejected

New Delhi: The Supreme Court Friday rejected bail application of CPI-M Kozhikode district secretariat member P Mohanan Master, the 14th accused in the murder case of T P Chandrasekharan.

The court has allowed him to file a fresh application once the cross-examining of the witnesses is over.

Mohanan moved the apex court after the High Court rejected his bail plea in December 2012.

He had said in the plea that he, being the 14th accused, has been in jail for six months without bail while C H Ashokan and Krishan, respectively the ninth and tenth accused in the case, are out on bail.

The state government had filed an injunction in the Supreme Court in connection with the bail petition of Mohanan. The injunction had sought to hear the state argument when taking up the bail plea.
